Home Automation

Computers are everywhere - even if you do not notice them. They make our lives easier and give us more time for our leasure activities. What would you do without your pocket calculator, cell phone, or PC? Why not let your home be computerized? Home Automation allows your home to almost run itself.

One type of Home Automation involves your security system. Not only is a standard siren available, but also 24 hour monitoring by professionals. Other systems will warn of water leaks, let you close your garage door from another location, or let you open doors for friends from work.

Another common type of Home Automation involves home networking. You can network several computers together throughout your home to share the same printer or internet connection. Networking is now wireless, so you can move your laptop outside to work if you wish.

Many people have digital thermostats, but do you have a thermostat that will warn you if your home's temperature is too cold for the pipes or too hot for your pets? Wouldn't you love to make your bedroom a little bit warmer without getting out of bed? This technology is available.

One of the most inexpensive Home Automation gadgets today is one that can adjust your lighting, or anything plugged into a certain outlet. Turning on lighting at different times of day appears that someone is home. Save energy by turning off your lights while on vacation, or turning off the iron that you accidentally left on.

Don't you hate driving down the road and seeing someone's yard sprinklers running in the middle of a huge rain storm? Why not just water your lawn when it needs it? Some sprinkler systems have sensors to know when the yard is dry. Have pesky kids or pets in your yard uninvited? A little water never hurts, but will eliminate unwated guests.

Home Automation will allow you to run most anything at the click of a button from the other side of the world. Do you want to see the inside of your home over the internet to see when your kids get home? Do you want to scan your empty groceries on a scanner on your refrigerator to be automatically replenished weekly via courier from your neighborhood grocery store? Do you want to start cooking dinner before you leave work so it is ready when you get home? All of these technologies are available today.
